Poll Recap: Youth Equine Organizations
For some people, the love of horses and riding starts early. Who didn’t ask for a pony for Christmas every year (maybe you still do!)? Fortunately, there are several equine youth organizations that can help educate and get young horse enthusiasts involved in the industry.
In last week’s online poll, we asked our readers if they were or are involved in an equine youth organization. More than 375 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!
Of the 392 respondents, 107 (27%) said they were or are a member of 4-H, while 47 people (12%) said they were or are a member of Pony Club. Another 12 respondents (3%) said they belonged to a breed association’s youth program, while eight individuals (2%) were or are a member of a performance association’s youth program. An additional 28 respondents (7%) said they were a member of multiple equine youth organizations, while the remaining 190 respondents (48%) were or are not a part of an equine youth organization.
