The Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation announced Nov. 10 that it has launched its Ocala Initiative, in Florida, and that the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company (OBS) has donated $10,000.
The Ocala Initiative is dedicated to building support throughout Florida for research to advance equine health and welfare.
“We’re thrilled to have the support of OBS, and we greatly value their commitment as a cornerstone partner of this initiative,” said Garrett Gleeson, director of development and major gifts at the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. “By making this gift, OBS is recognizing the value of equine research, and this initiative is a win-win for all involved.”
The foundation is working with businesses and organizations in equine-related industries in Ocala and throughout Florida to raise $100,000 and will then solicit matching funds from individuals. The funds will be earmarked to support equine research at the University of Florida
