The Horse joins the entire horse industry in mourning the loss of Theodore O’Connor, lovingly known as Teddy. "We all admired the heart of ‘the little horse that could,’ " said Kimberly Brown, Publisher of The Horse. "I hope all his fans will feel free to comment on their memories of Teddy and offer their condolences to Karen and David O’Connor, his owners, and groom."

Teddy, a champion 14.1-hand Shetland/Arabian/Thoroughbred cross eventing pony ridden by Karen O’Connor, was euthanized May 28 following an accident.

UPDATE – response posted from Karen, David and Max:

"We want to thank you all so much for the encouragement shown through your heartfelt emails and postings about our beloved Teddy.  We are so overwhelmed by the response of love and sympathy that the global equine community has displayed, and truly appreciate knowing such kindness in all of your words.  Teddy was one of a kind.  He was our bright light and Karen’s best friend.  It was such an honor to have been his rider and caregivers
