A Florida youth is facing multiple felony animal cruelty charges for allegedly using a butcher knife, a piece of lumber, a box cutter, and a golf club to attack several animals at a Clay County stable last month.

Clay County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Mary Justino said that between July 2 and July 16, the youth allegedly entered the stable at least twice and attacked two ponies and a Quarter Horse.

Detective Bryan McGuinness said the ponies’ sustained injuries to their legs.

"One pony’s leg was so badly injured it was attached only by a piece of flesh," McGuinness said
