The National Thoroughbred Racing Association March 31 announced that Pfizer Animal Health has become an official equine health promotional partner of the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance. Pfizer Animal Health will also make a contribution to NTRA Charities’ Barbaro Fund for Equine Health and Safety Research, a 501(c)(3) charity supporting equine safety research.

Pfizer Animal Health will be active in a number of NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance initiatives, including national outreach efforts, the NTRA’s annual Track Superintendents’ conference and research, and education on equine health and wellness.

Pfizer Animal Health will also publicize and promote a special fundraiser on Mother Goose Stakes Day, June 26 at Belmont Park. The fundraiser–a jockey autograph session featuring members of the New York jockey colony – will benefit the Barbaro Fund for Equine Health and Safety Research as well as the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.

“Pfizer Animal Health is pleased to support the NTRA Safety & Integrity Alliance and NTRA Charities in their initiatives to promote education and research on equine health and wellness,” said Kristin Ruff, senior equine marketing manager at Pfizer Animal Health, in a release. “The Track Superintendents’ conference and the fundraising event both offer a unique opportunity for us to interact with the racing community while contributing to a good cause.”

“Pfizer’s strong commitment to support the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance and the many endeavors of NTRA Charities will make a significant impact in the never-ending quest to improve equine health,” said Alex Waldrop, president and CEO of the NTRA, in a statement
