Gov. Ernie Fletcher has authorized $900,000 to design a new stadium at the Kentucky Horse Park.
Fletcher gave Commerce Cabinet Secretary George Ward the go-ahead on Thursday to use money that had been set aside for a statewide campground improvement project.


The proposed $24 million stadium is being built for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, set for 2010.


Even with that action, Fletcher said he still is considering a special legislative session to ask lawmakers to appropriate the rest of the money needed at the park.
