HorseTV will debut on January 1, 2001 as part of the initial broadcast launch of RFD-TV, the new 24-hour a day television network dedicated to serving the needs of rural America. RFD-TV and HorseTV will be seen on DISH Network’s· Channel 9409. The Tanbark Group, LLC, a Texas corporation, is the majority owner of HorseTV, the exclusive provider of equestrian programming to the network.


HorseTV will provide up to 50 hours or more per week of educational, instructional, veterinary, documentary, and show and event programming on RFD-TV devoted to owners, riders, breeders and lovers of horses and equestrian sports.


RFD Communications, Inc., a Texas non-profit 501(C) corporation, announced early in November that it had finalized an agreement with EchoStar Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: DISH, DISHP) for distribution of its 24 hour-a-day program schedule to all DISH Network· subscribers free-of-charge in the 48 continental United States. DISH Network is the fastest growing DBS (Direct Broadcast Satellite) service, with more than 4.3 million subscriber homes, and adding more than 150,000 new homes each month.


Broadcasting will originate from studios located in Dallas, Texas at the Frazier/King Media Building, and will be supported by RFD news bureaus in Washington, DC and Chicago, Illinois
