Stonecrest Farm’s Perfect Drift, winner of the 2003 Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. I) and third to Colonial Colony in this year’s renewal, is recovering from throat surgery to correct an entrapped epiglottis.


The 5-year-old Dynaformer gelding underwent the procedure on Tuesday at Lexington’s Hagyard-Davidson-McGee equine clinic, where Robert Hunt, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACVS, performed the surgery.


Trainer Murray Johnson said the surgery went well and that Perfect Drift is back in his stall at Trackside Louisville
