  1. My OTTB is 26-yrs-old and I blanket him with a medium weight blanket when it gets into the 50’s.

  2. I am lucky enough to have a nice barn with in and out stalls for all my horses. They can choose their comfort level and have an area to get in away from the wind. I only blanket when they let me know they are cold.

  3. I only blanket if there is cold & precipitation forecasted for a significant amount of time. Otherwise, they adapt very well to the cold and do not need blanketed.
