I have a Belgian Draft mare that has trust issues with some people (men) and procedures. I’ve used some calming products, both over the counter and prescribed by a vet, mostly for having her feet trimmed. She has been a pasture pet since she was born; long story. I halter-broke her when she was a month old and she is fine with me. I’ve had some trainers try to work with her, but all of them don’t understand her and they just make things worse. I am confined to a mobility chair and was when she was born so I cannot work with her. She was foaled in 2011. I have stopped having her feet worked on as she keeps them worn down and even my farrier, who does my other horses, all minis, says her hooves look fine.
