  1. I have a Belgian Draft mare that has trust issues with some people (men) and procedures. I’ve used some calming products, both over the counter and prescribed by a vet, mostly for having her feet trimmed. She has been a pasture pet since she was born; long story. I halter-broke her when she was a month old and she is fine with me. I’ve had some trainers try to work with her, but all of them don’t understand her and they just make things worse. I am confined to a mobility chair and was when she was born so I cannot work with her. She was foaled in 2011. I have stopped having her feet worked on as she keeps them worn down and even my farrier, who does my other horses, all minis, says her hooves look fine. However, he will not work with her as he is afraid of her. But my dentist, a woman, has no problems working with her without sedation.
