The Gloucester County horse had not been vaccinated against EEE in 2018 and was euthanized.

The affected Quarter Horse stallion had not been off the farm in several months, and there is no known exposure to horses outside the farm.

The neurologic horse was seen at a private veterinary clinic in Loudoun County, Virginia, before returning home to a private farm in Montgomery County, Maryland. The horse’s home facility has been quarantined.

New cases in Boyle, Harrison, Jackson, and Mercer counties were reported Sept. 20. One affected horse was alive at last update and three had been euthanized. None had been vaccinated against WNV.

Unvaccinated horses and those with unknown vaccination histories from Lyon, Marion, Neosho, Seward, and Wichita counties have tested positive for WNV.

No horses in Wyoming have tested positive for EIA at this time. However, there are now 58 horses quarantined at 12 facilities in Albany, Fremont, Laramie, Lincoln, Natrona, Park, Sweetwater, and Teton counties.

Officials reported seven cases of WNV in Wyoming horses residing in Campbell, Fremont, Goshen, Park, and Sheridan counties.
