University of Maryland Extension to Hold Forage Workshop

On June 18, from 6 to 8 p.m., the University of Maryland Extension will host a hay and forage workshop for horse owners and managers at the Lower Eastern Short Research and Education Center in Salisbury, Md.
According to a program brochure, discussion topics will include techniques for evaluating hay and forage alternative options, in addition to a question and answer session. Attendees will also take part in a tour of a research forage plot.
The cost to attend is $5 per person, and those 18 years and younger are invited to attend for free. To register or for more information, interested parties are asked to contact Jessie Renshaw, Agriculture Faculty Extension Assistant, at jrenshaw@umd.edu or 410/632-1972 by June 17.
