The University of Maryland (UMD) Extension will be hosting two day-long seminars on horse pasture management. Scheduled lecture topics at both seminars include:

  • Year-round pasture management;
  • Weed control;
  • Mud and erosion control measures;
  • Grass species for horse pastures;
  • Pasture renovation;
  • Where and how to apply for money for pasture improvements; and
  • Rotational grazing

The first seminar will take place at the Baltimore County Extension Office/Sagamore Farm, in Cockeysville, on Sept. 7, while the second will take place Sept. 21 at Hassler Dressage at Riveredge, in Chesapeake City. Both events will run from 8:30 am—3:00 pm. The $35 per person registration fee covers all educational materials and lunch.
