The first, a 12-year-old mare in Ocean County, was euthanized despite having been vaccinated for EEE in April.
Other Ocean County cases included an unvaccinated 20-year-old gelding and an unvaccinated 2-year-old gelding. Both were euthanized.
The five latest cases include an 18-year-old gelding in Morris County; a 4-month-old colt in Salem County; a 4-year-old gelding and a gelding of unknown age in Ocean County; and a yearling filly in Atlantic County. None of these horses were vaccinated for EEE, and all were euthanized
