What’s your biggest concern during the cold winter months? We posed this question to our readers in last week’s online poll. More than 550 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 556 respondents, 190 (34%) said their biggest concern is keeping water troughs from freezing. Another 181 respondents (33%) said they’re concerned about horses or humans slipping on ice, and 92 people (17%) said they are most concerned about forage feeding frequency. Keeping ice balls from forming in horses’ hooves is a major concern for 54 individuals (10%) and the remaining 39 respondents (7%) said providing warm, dry blankets was their biggest winter horse care concern
