Surpass (1% diclofenac sodium) is back on the market after a two-year absence. Manufacturer Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health began shipping the product on Monday, May 15, to existing animal health distributors and veterinarians.

Surpass is an FDA-approved topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory cream indicated for controlling pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. The cream delivers targeted therapy to areas such as the hocks, knees, fetlocks, and pasterns in horses.

Surpass is available by veterinary prescription.
